The most popular cosmetic surgeries
Most plastic surgery procedures still include liposuction, eyelid tightening and breast augmentation. It shows that these treatments are becoming more and more commonplace in Germany. Thus, growing numbers could be recorded for all cosmetic operations. There is also an unbroken upward trend for operations such as rhinoplasty, breast and abdominal wall tightening and facelifts. Corrections in the intimate area are also becoming increasingly popular. Overall, however, there are some differences between men and women.
Breast augmentation among women remains very popular
Many patients who consult a cosmetic surgeon are not satisfied with the size or shape of their breasts. The reasons for breast augmentation can be varied. In general, women would like to have a more natural, feminine and overall more aesthetic breast. Implants are the most commonly used for breast augmentation this year. This applies not only to Germany but also to the rest of the world.
Nevertheless, an alternative method is also increasingly in demand. This is the enlargement of the breast with the body’s own fat cells. These are taken from other parts of the body, processed and then injected into the breasts. This breast augmentation with autologous fat is suitable for women who find an implant unnatural and only want to enlarge their breasts by one cup size. It is therefore not suitable for all women. Breast augmentations of two or more cup sizes are difficult to achieve with this method. You should always keep this in mind.
Cosmetic surgeries are no longer just for women
Cosmetic surgery is no longer just a procedure performed by women. Meanwhile, every fifth operation is a treatment performed on men. Because men have long since discovered the advantages of aesthetic plastic surgery for themselves. Everyone wants to have a neat, young and aesthetically pleasing appearance. This is where the biggest increases have been recorded in recent years. While women did it many years ago, men are now following suit in all areas. In both sexes, however, the patient age changes compared to previous years.
The patients are getting older
While in the past it was mainly younger patients who underwent cosmetic surgery, nowadays people are getting older and older. There is therefore a shift in the age structure. The largest increases are seen in the age group of over 40 years. The 18-30 year olds are still just in first place. However, in the coming years they will be replaced by the over 40s.
